Activity Instructions

Have students take turns tossing a bean bag onto the mat. Then, have them hopscotch down to where it landed. When they reach the number it landed on, either call out that number squared (if it is a double number) or it’s square root (if single space). For example, if the bean bag lands on 36, the student would say, “The square root of 36 is 6.” If it lands on an 8, the student would say, “Eight squared is 64.”
