Activity Instructions

Say to your student, “Choose a fruit and walk to it.” Ask the student, “How many steps would you have to take to reach ten?” Have the student jump the number of boxes it takes to get to ten. For example, if a student chooses to stand on 6, the student answers that it would take four steps to reach ten (then the student walks and counts it out). Respond, “Yes, six plus four makes ten.” If the student answers incorrectly, have them count again.
