Please join Suzy Koontz, creator of Math & Movement on December 6, 2018 in Albany, NY. Math & Movement is a multi-sensory approach to teaching math and reading that incorporates cross-body movements and physical activity of all kinds. The program uses floor mats that allow children to practice basic skills using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning modalities. In this workshop, you will learn: why exercise increases learning, how to use Math & Movement to help students meet the Next Generation Learning Standards and increase test scores, easy-to-apply and powerful techniques for extra math practice during brain breaks, how to train your students to develop their own Math & Movement exercises, specific Math & Movement exercises including the Jump Box Fours and Jack-In-the-Box, how to be a part of the International March Madness Math-A-Thon from March 1 through Pi Day!, how to gain sponsorship for the Math & Movement Family Fun Night, how to apply for grant opportunities and about the National Math Foundation.
All teachers who attend the workshop receive one FREE hard copy Math & Movement Training Manual, 6 digital files of the Skip Counting Banners by 3’s, 4’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8’s and 9’s, and numerous e-books! We will raffle copies of Suzy Koontz’s children’s books, Buddies, A Math Adventure, Honey, A Math Adventure and Freddy Fibonacci’s Awful Allowance.
For teachers, educational support professionals, physical education and special education teachers.
