June 23 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Topic: The ABCs of Math & Movement: Kinesthetic Strategies to Improve One-to-One Correspondence and Fluency for Pre-K-2 students

Description: Learn about brain science and why movement-based learning is beneficial for students and adults. Learn simple strategies to increase focus, concentration and to energize students. Learn strategies to link movement to academic content and how to incorporate movement in virtual lessons.  This training will highlight the newly-released children’s book, The ABCs of Math & Movement by Suzy Koontz, which provides a series of counting movements based on each letter of the alphabet and a fun fact about an animal. For example, A is for alligator. Did you know that an alligator can jump up to six feet to catch food for its dinner? Let’s be alligators while we count to 20! Training includes access to videos for alligator, beaver, cat and dolphin and some suggestions for parents.
