Math & Movement
Floor Mat Grants

Providing Educators with Kinesthetic Learning Materials

When students physically jump to learn their math facts on the Math & Movement floor mats, students become energized and focused! The bright colors are visually stimulating to students. They get excited about learning. This jump and learn process works so efficiently because exercise pumps glucose and oxygen into the brain which the brain requires for fuel. Students‘ enthusiasm leads to increased practice time which cements concepts into their memory.

We are currently offering four grants for different Math & Movement materials. These grants will provide the select Math & Movement material to all grant award recipients. These materials will be awarded to educators who are excited about implementing kinesthetic learning into their classroom and can demonstrate a need for increasing movement-based learning among their students.

Below you will find details about each floor mat and applications for each of the grants.

Kinesthetic Strategies for Teaching Place Value Grant

These multi-activity mats teaches the fundamentals of multi-place number building. Lay out number cards in the place value columns, then hop to say the number with the help of the place value prompts. Add place value manipulatives to add a visual comparison of the places.

Grant recipients will receive 1 Math & Movement Place Value Mat (either P1, P2, or P3.) In the application, you will be able to rank your choice of the mat options.

The Clock Hop Floor Mat is a fun way for kids to learn how to tell time with an analog clock as required in many state curriculums. It is also a great way to learn how to skip count by 5’s!
