Make teaching and learning tricky letters fun – not difficult!

Learning the letters of the alphabet can be challenging for young readers. Did you know your phonics lesson can include games to learn letters that your preschool or kindergarten class will love? Teach letters using movement with the Confusing Letter Hop Mat!

This floor mat lists four pairs of often-confused lowercase letters – u and n, w and m, b and d, and p and q. These letters are printed in large, bold type on colorful blocks. Additionally, each block has an illustration of a vocabulary word that starts with the letter. The bright colors and lively pictures will capture any visual learner’s interest.

Furthermore, this mat makes it easy to add speaking exercises to your lesson for auditory stimulation. Differentiate between and learn the letter sounds by reciting the vocabulary words and using them in a sentence. Best of all, kinesthetic activities will boost students’ retention and comprehension of the alphabet.

Kids learn better when they are active and moving around. Movements can be as simple as stepping, jumping, or just tracing the letters with a finger. They participate in learning-letters activities while developing fine motor skills.
