Mystery Animal

Give clues about an animal on the mat and have students find it on the mat. Clues could include things like
Spelling

Have students jump down the mat, matching each animal with their adult. As they land on each space, have them spell each animal’s name by hopping on one foot, one hop per letter. “C”-hop, “A”-hop, “L”-hop “F” -hop
Male/Female

Have students jump only on the female adult animals while naming them. Then do it again naming the male animals.
Animal Sound Fun

1. Stand on the START HERE block. 2. Jump on each block and make the sound of the animal on it. 3. Continue down the mat.
Jump on the Mat

1. Stand on the START HERE block. 2. Jump on each block and say the name of the animal on it. 3. Continue down the mat.
20 Questions

Have students take turns picking a pet in their head from the mat. The other students take turns asking questions to figure out which animal they chose.
Characteristic Clues

Have a student pick a pet in their head. Then have them give clues about the animal they chose. When a student thinks they know which pet is being described they jump to it on the mat.
Name the Pets

Have students stand around the mat while they take turns naming the pets on the mat. Then have the students stand on the square with their favorite one. Have them count off on each square. If there are 3 students on dog they’ll count “One, two, three!” and so on. Ask which animal has the […]

Choose a category that multiple planets have in common and ask students to stand on all that exhibit the characteristic. E.g. Have an “N” in their name, look blue etc.
Superlatives

Ask a student to jump to the biggest planet, smallest, that has the most colors etc.
