What Do I Mean?

Flashcard Capitals

Cover the state capitals on the mat. Create flashcards with each state capital. Have your students line up behind START HERE. You will stand at the end of the mat. Show the first student one of the flashcards. That student will hop to the block with the matching state/capital. Continue through the cards and repeat.

Match the State Shape

Use the state cards (provided with the mat, or print out your own using the following pages) with the shape and capital. Have students match the card with the corresponding block as they hop down the mat.
