Spelling

Have students jump down the mat, matching each animal with their adult. As they land on each space, have them spell each animal’s name by hopping on one foot, one hop per letter. “K”-hop, “I”-hop, “T”-hop “T” -hop” “E” -hop” “N” -hop”
Letter Find

Challenge students to find an animal that starts with each letter of the alphabet. The whole class says, “A”, and the first student finds and names an animal beginning with that letter. If there is no animal with the letter try to think of one as a class.
Where do I Live?

Name a place one of the animals lives (their habitat). Students then jump to an animal that lives in that habitat and name it and its baby.
Name the Baby Animal

Have students start at the bottom of the mat and jump up the column on the left while naming the baby animal as they do so. Help as needed and have them jump enough times to learn the names.
Name the Adult Animal

Have students start at the bottom of the mat and jump up the column on the right while naming the animal as they do so.
Color Match

Have students toss a bean bag onto one of the squares on the mat. Have them jump down to it, name the color it landed on, and then find the matching colored square and jump to it.
Let’s Jump!

Have students hone their gross motor skills by tossing a bean bag onto the mat and jumping back and forth between the columns until they reach their bean bag. Then, the student will pick it back up and jump back to the beginning.
