Think of a Word
Have a student begin on START HERE. Have them jump on the A and shout, “A!” Ask, “Can you think of a word that begins with A that is not apple?” Have them continue down the mat, thinking of different words for each letter.
Spelling Words
Have a student begin on START HERE. Ask them to spell one of your current spelling words using the mat. For example, if the word is “cat,” the student would jump to C, A, and T.
