Make cards or use the letter cards on the following pages. Place the letter cards in a hat, box, or in a pile on the floor. Have a student select a card and find the corresponding letter on the mat. Have them place the card on the matching letter. Then, have them say the letter name and sound. Continue with the rest of the cards.
