Hop the Words

Have students begin on START HERE. Students will jump on the first box and say the word “small.” Students continue through each block, saying each of the words as they hop.
Kindergarten, Grade 1

Subtract and Identify

Use cards that range from 1-180 degrees. Hold up two cards for a student. The student subtracts the numbers and decides what type of angle they create. The student jumps on the corresponding angle on the mat and says that angle.

Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7

Add and Identify

Use cards that range from 0-180 degrees. Hold up two cards for a student. The student adds the numbers and decides what type of angle they create. The student jumps on the corresponding angle on the mat and says that angle.

Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7

Are We Supplementary?

Use cards that range from 0-180 degrees. Hold up two cards for a student and have them answer if the two angles are complementary or not. If they are, the student jumps on the ‘supplementary angles’ box on the mat and says, ‘supplementary angles’.

Grade 7

Are We Complementary?

Create notecards that range from 0-90 degrees. Hold up two cards for a student and have them answer if the two angles are complementary or not. If they are, the student jumps on the ‘complementary angles’ box on the mat and says, ‘complementary angles’.

What Am I?

Ask your students the following questions or create flashcards for students to practice on their own. Have them hop on the answer while they say the name of the angle out loud.

  • My angle is under 90 degrees. What am I?
  • My angle is exactly 90 degrees. What am I?
  • My angle is greater than 90 degrees. What am I?
  • My angle is exactly 180 degrees. What am I?
  • My angle is greater than 180 degrees. What am I?
Grade 4, Grade 5

Angles Less Than

Ask your students the following questions or create flashcards for students to practice on their own. Have them hop on the answer while they say the name of the angle out loud.

Which angle is less? A right angle or an acute angle
Which angle is less? A right angle or an obtuse angle
Which angle is less? An obtuse angle or an acute angle
Which angle is less? A straight angle or obtuse angle

Identifying Angles (for Grade 5)

Give your students the ‘Identifying Angles Worksheet (Fifth Grade)’. Have the students draw the angle on the worksheet. Have the students jump on the mat and say the identified angle after completing each problem.

For questions 13-16, once the angles are identified as either complementary or supplementary, the student should jump on the corresponding angle on the mat as they say the angle name.

Identifying Angles 2

Give your students the ‘Identifying Angles Worksheet 2’. Have the students identify and name the angle by writing the name of the angle on the worksheet. Have the students jump on the answer on the mat and say the identified angle after completing each worksheet question.
