Gratitude Journal Writing Activity

Have your students write out the following six positive affirmations and their reflections.

Race-to-Ninety-Nine

Players line up at 0. Roll dice. Whoever gets the highest number goes first. First player rolls the dice and takes that number of steps. Second player rolls dice and takes that many steps. If the second player lands on the spot of the first player, then the first player goes back to zero. Continue until the first person reaches 99.

Crazy Countdown

Students line up at the 99. Each marches on the mat counting down from 99 to 0.

PreK, Kindergarten, Grade 1

Barney Bumps

Have one student stand on 0 and another on 99. Have each student carefully step on each number while reciting the number. Barney bumps is the number they are on when they meet mid-way. Is the number at the half-way point? Why or why not? While the students are walking, the other students are guessing what number will be the meeting point.
