Activity Instructions

Practice dividing hundreds by multiples of 10. Have students toss a bean bag onto a multiple of 100 on the mat. Then ask them to divide by whatever is 1/10 of that number. For example, if the bean bag lands on 700, ask them to divide by 70. (They can use the mat to find the answer to be 10.) For every multiple of 100, ask them to divide by a tenth of it. Soon they will notice the pattern that they all equal 10.
