Activity Instructions

MATERIAL(S): Add/Subtract Mat, 2 dice

This activity can be done individually, as partners, or in groups. Players of this game line up on the mat at ‘1.’ Each player or team rolls the dice. Whoever gets the highest number goes first.

The first player or team rolls the dice and takes that number of steps forward (or, in other words, adds the rolled number to the number they are currently standing on).

The second player rolls dice and takes that many steps. Continue to roll and add until the first person or team reaches 100. For older students, have them roll two dice, multiplying the two rolled numbers and then adding that product to the number they are on.

**You can add fun twists or rules to this game to make it as complicated as you wish. For example, at any point in the game, if the second player or team lands on the spot of the first player or team the first team goes back to ‘1’!
