Activity Instructions

This requires 2 mats
Split your class into 2 teams. They will make a line in front of the mat. The first student in each line will be going against each other. The teacher will call out a word for these 2 students to spell. Students will race to place letter cards down in the appropriate boxes to spell the word. The students then must hop through the letters respelling the word and then repeating what the word is. Ensure that students do not rush through respelling the word and get ahead of themselves. The student that spells the word the quickest gets a point for their team, they go to the end of the line, and the next 2 students are up. Continue through the whole class.
