Activity Instructions

This game is played in pairs. Two cards are drawn from the pile of 10-1,000 cards (using only the multiples of 10). Each student receives one card. The students decide who will stand on the mat and who will give directions. Student A stands on the mat on the number that is on their card. Student B directs them on how to move to the number on the second card without revealing their number. Student B will call out directions such as, ‘add 20,’ subtract 30,’ ‘add 40,’ ‘subtract 50,’ etc. for second grade and ‘multiply your number by 3’ for third graders. When the student on the mat reaches the number on the card, the students switch places.
