Words Meaning Hop

Students should hop from block to block until they are told to stop. When they land on the block, they should explain the meaning of both of the words and use them in a sentence. Example: If a student lands on the block of “De-, Dis-”, they should explain what “defrost” and “disagree” mean. This will help them understand the meaning of each word while reaffirming what the prefix is doing.
Grade 3

Prefix Meaning Hop

Students will jump from prefix to prefix, until they are told to stop. When they are told to stop, they should give an explanation of how the prefix changes the word on the same space.
Example:
Above, we see the word “disagree”. The student should explain what the word agree means, and how the prefix “dis” changes it, by essentially reversing the meaning.
