These new Compact Versions of our beloved Skip Counting Mats make kinesthetic math lessons possible even if you’re limited on classroom space! Likewise, these smaller mats work for skip counting at home in a living room or hallway.

Skip counting is an important skill that is foundational to multiplication. Given its importance, students should drill skip counting patterns frequently. Fun skip counting activities are made easy with these mats – simply lay them out and start hopping while counting!

Our complete set includes seven skip-counting floor mats, each for a different multiple. You can also purchase each mat individually. Each mat is 45 x 38 inches, making them easy to set up and store.

Each vinyl mat features a number line with large blocks for each multiple. Each large block contains the numeral, number word, and a group of symbols representing the corresponding quantity. These mats make skip counting practice visually engaging with their bright colors and kid-friendly text!

Kids love to move around. Physical activity increases blood flow and oxygen in the brain, which in turn boosts learning comprehension and memory retention. Additionally, movement-based activities will help young students further develop their fine motor skills. Math doesn’t have to be stagnant or stationary!

Sample Activity: Multiplication

• Give a student a multiplication problem using the factor on the floor mat. Present this problem verbally, on a flashcard, on the board, or on a worksheet.
• For example, ask the student to solve 3 x 4 using the Skip Counting by 3s mat.
• The student will begin on 0 then jump forward as many times as the factor is being multiplied. In this example, the student will jump forward 4 times while only landing on multiples of 3.
• The final number they land on is the product. Have the student recite the problem aloud. In this case, the student will say “3 times 4 equals 12.”
