Activity Instructions

To help students recognize letter sounds, lay all of the letter cards on the floor. Have your students step on each letter card while saying all of the sounds that letter can make. For example, ‘c’ sounds are /s/ and /k/. Be sure that your students say the sound correctly. Tell your students the sound if they do not immediately know the sound. Continue until the students are familiar with sounds.
