Have fun with garden literacy!

Take learning outside with this garden literacy mat. Students will learn 1:1 correspondence and the meaning of K-5 science terms such as sunlight, habitat, biodiversity, pistil, blooming, stamen, interaction, pollen, butterflies, garden, water, soil, nectar, insects, petals, pollination, flower, and bees.

Materials: Our floor mats are made from heavy-duty vinyl. They are easy to clean, durable, and long-lasting. Some teachers have used their mats for over 10 years!

Sample Activity:

• Have a student jump to the first word on the mat.
• Then, ask the student to spell the word.
• If they spell it correctly, ask them to hop to the next word.
• Repeat.
