Sample Activity: The Number Walk

• Have your student take the number walk from zero to ten.
• As the student steps on each number, encourage them to simultaneously say the number name.
• If your student’s counting is ahead of the number they are stepping on, ask them to start again.
• Stepping on a number and saying its name at the same time shows that a student understands one-to-one correspondence.
