Make classifying quadrilaterals fun for kids!
Sorting quadrilaterals by type can be a fun, hands-on activity. Our Classifying Quadrilaterals floor mat is the perfect tool for teaching young mathematicians all about four-sided shapes. This mat is ideal for 1st through 4th graders to start playing movement-based quadrilateral games in geometry class!
This hop mat features 8 different shape classifications including quadrilateral, trapezoid, parallelogram, rectangle, rhombus, square, and kite. Measuring 54 inches wide by 54 inches long, this colorful mat has plenty of space for multiple students to hop on. We created a classifying quadrilaterals chart that is larger than life. This mat will encourage active learning and collaborative play as students master quadrilateral classification.
Students will be able to identify and classify quadrilaterals by their sides and angles as a result of practice on this mat. Pairs of parallel sides and congruent angles will no longer be just abstract concepts. Students will be able to see, touch, and trace different types of quadrilaterals. They will also learn how to read the shape names, which promotes their letter and word recognition skills.
Additionally, the Classifying Quadrilaterals floor mat has space for students to create the shape themselves. Practice building quadrilateral shapes with popsicle sticks, pencils, or rulers. Challenge students with an interactive quadrilateral game!
Kinesthetic activities will boost learning comprehension and help young students develop gross motor skills. Take a look at our activity database for more sorting quadrilaterals activities and games. Recognizing quadrilaterals has never been this fun before!
