Have fun counting coins to make a dollar!
Counting money for kids can be a fun, large, and energetic activity! Teach kids how to count money with games on our Dollar Hop mat. Practice counting coins and using different coins to make various cents values up to one dollar.
The Dollar Hop floor mat names and depicts the number of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half-dollars that equal one dollar. At 38 inches wide and 66 inches long, kids are able to clearly see and count each coin. Multiple students can participate in counting coins games on this mat at once!
The bold colors and kid-friendly text will engage any visual learner. Furthermore, having the name of each coin and bill spelled out on the mat will help students solve word problems with money.
Use this mat with students as young as kindergarten, who are learning to identify coins and their value. This mat can also be used with students as old as third grade to practice multiplication with money. Either way, reaching the dollar bill at the top of the mat is the goal! Learn what amount of money is needed to make one dollar.
Count and move!
Our money-counting games place an emphasis on movement-based learning. The Dollar Hop mat will encourage active learning while helping students develop gross motor skills. Physical activity will reinforce students’ learning and improve their memory retention. Watch your kids excel at manipulating coins and bills as they jump, step, skip, and trace their way through new kinesthetic money-counting games!

Sample Activity: Counting Coins Equalizer
- Have students stand in a group on one denomination on the mat (e.g. 3 students on dimes) and count how much their coins are worth (30 cents).
- Then, have the other students stand on an equal number of cents without using dimes (e.g. one student on a quarter and one on a nickel).
- Finally, challenge the other students to make the same amount using the least number of coins and the most.
