Our team will need the precise dimensions of your stairs to ensure your stair riser stickers are custom-sized to perfectly fit your staircase. To measure your stairs, follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Identify and Exclude Stair Lips
Check if your stairs have a protruding “stair lip” (the part that extends over the riser below). It is crucial that you DO NOT INCLUDE stair lips in your total height measurement for the riser.
Step 2: Measure the Riser Height and Length
Math & Movement requires accurate measurements for the height and length (width) of your stair risers to produce your vinyl. For each stair riser, measure the height (from the floor to the bottom of the stair lip, if present) and the length (from side to side).
Please note: If your stair riser width exceeds 75 inches, we may need to divide the design into two parts for easy installation of your stair stickers.
Our peel-and-stick stair riser decals are made using 3M adhesive and technology. Each staircase sticker is 6.4mm thick and laminated for extra protection. To adhere properly, risers must have a smooth, flat surface (vinyl and laminate work best, but schools have had success applying their stickers to concrete surfaces). Key factors that can impact the longevity of your stair riser decals include proper surface prep, even squeegee pressure during application, and how the stairs are cleaned.
