  • Give a student a number. (Roll a die, hand them number card, or just say it aloud).
  • Then, tell the student to either add or subtract 5.
  • To solve, the student will stand on the original number and take five hops towards 10 (to add) or towards 1 (to subtract).
  • Encourage the rest of the class to clap and say each number aloud as the student hops.
